heya, quick question about the XSLT 1.0 spec. i can't seem to find much detail on what types of nodes are copied over by xsl:copy-of - it specifies how to copy element nodes and says about the root node that it is copied by copying its children. though which ones?? can't copy the doctype, any others that should be avoided? the equivalent operation in DOM would probably be importNode(Node n, boolean deep). DOM docs state clearly that document type nodes for one cannot be imported, neither can document nodes (Xerces barfs on you with a NullPointerException if you try!) /m XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
