[XSL-LIST Mailing List Archive Home] [By Thread] [By Date] [Recent Entries] [Reply To This Message] RE: Schema Element Definiton Order
XDR was a predecessor to XML Schema developed with DataChannel and others, and Microsoft is just as involved and supportive of XML Schema as we were with XDR. XML Schema is still not ratified, and we like everyone else are supporting the standard as it evolves. BTW, Lee specifically mentions MSXML3, which does have XSLT support. The older parser that shipped with IE5 had more limited support based on earlier drafts. There is an XSLT stylesheet at http://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads/webtechnology/xml/xsltconv.asp which will convert older stylesheets to the new XSLT format. -J > -----Original Message----- > From: David Carlisle [mailto:davidc@xxxxxxxxx] > Sent: Wednesday, July 05, 2000 5:57 AM > To: xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: Re: Schema Element Definiton Order > > > > > But aren't XML schema's XSL elements? > > No, they are XML elements, XSL is the stylesheet and transformation > language for XML. > the DLL used by default in internet explorer 5 (msxml) does include > an XML parser, an XDR (XDR=Microsoft flavoured XML schema) validator, > and an XSL system (or at least Microsoft implementation of an > early XSLT > draft).
