One major difference is that none of the above has an associated file 
suffix. And where they do have common namespace prefixes, those *are* 
commonly undewrstood as referencing the technology in question.

That's a fair point in general, but I don't think it applies once you've 
already associated acronyms to a language via file suffixes and 
namespace prefixes.
