Cc: Subject: another naieve question - valid characters for ID values So, at the risk of stumbling across another point of contention between programmers and writers :) Why do the the values of an ID attribute have to start with something besides a number? That is to say, why can't they be simply numbers? Or have I encountered a limitation of the parser I'm using (libxml2)? rick jones -- Wisdom Teeth are impacted, people are affected by the effects of events. these opinions are mine, all mine; HP might not want them anyway... :) feel free to post, OR email to raj in cup.hp.com but NOT BOTH... ----------------------------------------------------------------- The xml-dev list is sponsored by XML.org <http://www.xml.org>, an initiative of OASIS <http://www.oasis-open.org> The list archives are at http://lists.xml.org/archives/xml-dev/ To subscribe or unsubscribe from this list use the subscription manager: <http://lists.xml.org/ob/adm.pl>
