Since you ask.

What he wants is done in RNG thus:

timeframeType = description?,
	(earliestdate | latestdate | (earliestdate, latestdate))

The rules for description, earliestdate and latestdate must be given
elsewhere, of course.

RNG does not care about ambiguity of this kind, and will parse every
possibility in parallel.
