Thanks for the reply. Yes, those encodings are built-in in expat. However, there are other encodings, such as big5 and several version of Japanese encodings, are also supported with the perl XML::Parser I got from CPAN. Does this mean I have to do more than just generate a .enc file? Do I need to write a handler by myself? This could be strange if it IS required.
