This one was fixed in the SAX2 r2pre2 release, by the way.

The current org.xml.sax.helpers.XMLReaderFactory fixes
several issues with the factory code.  Have a look at the
javadoc ... the META-INF/services/org.xml.sax.driver
resource may contain the name of the class to use.
