There's always the test suite at

    http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/xmlconf/xml/suite/

Follow checkout directions (module "xml/suite") at:

    http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=8114

That's got better coverage of Japanese languages than European
ones (most files are in UTF-8). It mostly focuses on smaller
files, and there are some as-yet unresolved bugs in the testcases
(mostly, but not exclusively, those submitted by IBM).

p.s. Do pay attention to the test categorizations; filenames
    are not always accurate.
