Hi Michael,

See http://www.datadirect.com/products/xquery/matrix/ddxquery.htm for a list of the supported databases and versions supported. I know that it works with the free community edition 5.1.x but I have not tried MySQL 5.5.

In order to connect to the free edition you should open the File Explorer from the View menu option. Then right click on the Relational DB and select New Server. Database Type should be MySQL Community Edition. Driver Classpath should point to the MySQL JDBC driver jar file, Server URL should be //<host>:<port>/<database>? e.g. //localhost:3306/mydb?. The trailing question mark is necessary.

If the connection still does not work then can you post the error message displayed? Stylus Studio is usually pretty detailed in the error message and will show you the stack trace.

If you do manage to get the connection working you can watch a video demonstrating how to use Stylus Studio XQuery with relational datasources at http://www.stylusstudio.com/videos/ddxqdemo/datadirectxquery.html.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Rory

So much for the database video... "We're sorry. The web page you are looking for is not a functioning page on our site."

Sorry, it looks like the link is including the period at the end of the URL. Try http://www.stylusstudio.com/videos/ddxqdemo/datadirectxquery.html

Rory
