I'm not positive I understand what you are looking for; but if you are looking for a RDBMS table rendered as XML where columns are represented as attributes, you can easily do that using DataDirect XQuery in Stylus Studio; the following little XQuery will do that for the table named "booksXML".

<books> {
for $booksXML in collection("booksXML")/booksXML
return
<book> {
for $column in $booksXML/*
return
attribute {$column/name()} {$column/text()}
} </book>
} </books>
