D RyanSubject: Using Stylus Studio 6.0 with Berkeley DB
Author: D Ryan
Date: 29 Oct 2004 02:45 AM
I am trying to use Berkeley DB with Stylus Studio 6.0. Both on Windows XP.
After having added the six dlls to my PATH,
and the 2 jar files to my CLASSPATH as specified in the documentation, I still cannot open a Berkeley DB container.

I get the error:

You must set your PATH environment variable before using the Berkeley DB XML adapter.
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no libdbxml_java12 in java.library.path

Please note I have closed and restarted Stylus Studio after setting my PATH and CLASSPATH.

When I echo %PATH% in a command prompt, I get:

C:\dbxml-1.2.1-win32\bin>echo %PATH%
C:\WINDOWS\system32;
C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adaptec Shared\System;C:\dbxml-1.2.1-win32\bin\li
bdb42.dll;C:\dbxml-1.2.1-win32\bin\libdb_java42.dll;C:\dbxml-1.2.1-win32\bin\libdbxml12.dll;C:\dbxml-1.2.1-win32\bin\libdbxml_java
12.dll;C:\dbxml-1.2.1-win32\bin\Pathan.dll;C:\dbxml-1.2.1-win32\bin\Xerces-c_2_4_0.dll;C:\dbxml-1.2.1-win32\bin\libdbxml_java12.dl

You can see that the dll the error message mentions is in my PATH.

Hi,
the error is in the PATH environment variable: you need to list the
directory where the DB XML DLLs are, not all the DLL names.
So, in your case, PATH should be equal to

C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;C:\Program
Files\Common Files\Adaptec Shared\System;C:\dbxml-1.2.1-win32\bin

Hope this helps,
Alberto
