I have seen some very weird behaviour from Struzzo when I run another application that is written in Java. It seems to get to the point of thrashing the disk and the only solution is to shut it down. The other application seems to be behaving OK

Martin,
when Stylus "trashes the disk", is the application still responsive
(even if slow)? In some cases we have noticed that the process of
generating a struzzo.log file as a result of a crash can enter a long loop
with a similar behavior as disk thrashing; in that case you would find a
*very* big struzzo.log file in your Stylus bin directory.

If that's not the case, then the only reason I can imagine for such
behavior is that the other application's JVM and Stylus are competing for
memory; as Stylus performs several background tasks, that could force a
context switch between the two processes that in a situation of critically
low physical memory might cause the behavior you are describing. Can you
check the situation of your machine's memory when the thrashing happens
taking a look at the Performance tab in the task manager?

BTW, does this happen on *any* machine you have tried or only on a
particular installation?
