Subject:suggestion for editing behavior Author:Gerald Nelson Date:07 Jul 2002 02:13 PM
In some recent upgrade/update you added a 'feature' that has been bugging me recently. When I select something and then do a cntl-h to find and replace, the default option is replace only in the selection. I seem to be constitutionally incapable of remembering to check the 'whole file' option when I want to do a global search and replace.
So what I would like is a behavior similar to that in Word, where after it checks/replaces the selection, you are asked whether you want to continue checking/replacing in the whole document.
A related improvement would be nice. When I have some changes that I want to make selectively, I would like to have a 'find next' option. Currently, my only choices seem to be the selection and the whole file.
