Subject:How do I verify "opt=yes" URI option has been applied to XSD Author:Festus Redelinghuys Date:02 Jul 2010 08:51 AM
Hi,
I am making progress with the Xml converter on BizTalk.
I get the error below. If have set the ""opt=yes" URI option" and exported the XSD.
How/where do I verify in the XSD that the flag has been applied.
Thanks

opt=yes does not affect schema generation.
It does affect whether the converter itself ignores the 'mandatory'
flag on segments and elements or not.
XML Schema files are good for mapping, but not so much for validation,
since XML Schema is insufficiently powerful to describe the EDI grammar
completely. We do not use XML Schema to validate, therefore options
which affect validation do not affect the schema we generate. Only
options which affect the layout of the XML we generate also affect
schema generation.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the response.
OK, I understand. Question though: Once I have created the XSD and moved it over to BizTalk (going though the normal procedure), how does the StylusStudio XmlConverter(disassembler) in the BT pipeline know that these options are to be ignored?

I found the answer:
In the BizTalk Receiver-Pipeline, change the "XML Converters 5.0 disassembler" Url, (Pipeline Components) property, from "EDI" to "EDI:seg=no:typ=no:opt=yes:decimal=."
