Subject:Size limit for XML documents Author:Steven Milz Date:13 Feb 2012 02:11 PM
We are looking to change our suite of XML tools and Stylus Studio looks good at first impression. However, I have two main questions.
First, is there a practical limit to the size of XML files the tool can work with? Data that is sent to us is often in the 200 to 300 megabyte size and could be larger. I need to be able to open these files, apply XSLT, run XPath queries, etc.
Second, is this only a 32-bit app or is a 64-bit version available? I would think a 64-bit version may make my first question OBE.
Running XSLT transformations on large XML documents is a different challenge. Stylus Studio Enterprise bundles Saxon Enterprise XSLT and DataDirect XQuery processors; both processors implement techniques (streaming and projection) to process virtually unlimited XML data for specific use cases.
