Bill SullivanSubject: A bit confused on where to start

I'm a php web developer who is looking into EDI to XML, and XML to EDI converters for a company project. I'm a bit new to the EDI end, and the Stylus products. I would like to speak to a sales rep (I did fill out the form), but I can't find a number! So here goes:
We would like to take in customers XML 850 orders, convert them to X12 EDI and send the EDI orders to JDEdwards on an AS/400. Ideally it would be nice to have a black box that did this. Right now we have a pretty sad system where combination of scripts, cron jobs, flat files, and ftp access is used for the transfer/conversion. What would I/we need to do this? The direct converters? the ide studio? both?

The XML Converters are indeed designed as a sort of "black box"
that take in EDI in one end and produce XML, or vice-versa.

There are lots of ways to embed them. They can be called from
Java or as .Net objects, and even from the command line.

We've got a few demos on our website that show usage in different
ways, such as directory-polling services in Java and .Net:

http://www.xmlconverters.com/tutorials/edi-java-polling-service.html
http://www.xmlconverters.com/tutorials/edi-dotnet-watcher-service.html

The simplest possible programs in C#, VB.net and Java are here:
http://www.xmlconverters.com/tutorials/converter-sample-code.html

Does this get you started?

Let us know if we can be of more specific help.
