Paul HermansSubject: long filenames in Berkeley XML DB get truncated
Author: Paul Hermans
Date: 17 Nov 2006 07:14 AM
We have xml files in berkeley xml db with file names in the form of http addresses, e.g.
http://www.pcce.be/egb/artefact#KF.objecten.1

These get truncated in the Stylus view on berkeley db to, for the example above, e.g.:
artefact#KF.objecten.1

A side effect is that these files cannot be opened in Stylus.

Regards,

Paul

In an HTTP URL, the '#' is the fragment identifier.
Anything after '#' isn't actually part of the address of the document,
but refers to a subset of the document.
Many internet tools will have difficulty with URLs that use a '#'
as a part of the base name.

Tony,

Thanks for the reply. This statement is true.
However I tested the same Berkeley DB database today with a newly released version of a competitor's tool and this tool doesn't have the issues I encountered with Stylus Studio.
