Hi Tim,
I tried validating that XML document (after changing DOCTYPE to reflect the location where I placed sdktoc.dtd), and it validated just fine.
What error are you seeing? And which version of Stylus Studio are you using?

The error is that there is an extra double quote after the word 'scoping' in line 8. The document validates with (or without) the extra double quote. I'm using Style Studio XML Home Edit 2006 501j.

Hi Tim,
a DTD is not able to perform the kind of validation you are saying.
That is, the DTD contains

<!ELEMENT name (#PCDATA)>

that means that the element "name" will have some text between the start tag and the end tag; both [for() Loop Scoping"] and [for() Loop Scoping] are valid strings.
If you want to describe more precisely what is allowed inside an element you will need to switch to XMLSchema validation.
