Paul HermansSubject: built-in xslt processor behaves differently from o
Author: Paul Hermans

Some examples of different behaviour by the built-in xslt processor versus the other ones.

xml input: musicians.xml
xslt: musicians5.xml

select = "musician[NrOfRecordings != 1]" on line 18 behaves differently

xml input: musicians.xml
xslt: musicians8+9+10.xml

on line 32 gives a NaN, while others return 7.
Xalan also gives a Nullpointer exception

Applicationmusicians5b.XSL
first xslt

Applicationmusicians.xml
input

Applicationmusicians8+9+10.XSL
second xslt

Thanks Paul.

Both problems have been addressed in version 5.1, which will be public and
available as a free upgrade for 5.0 users on 9/12.

The problem was caused by whitespaces in the NrOfRecordings element (the
ones trailing the digit); if you remove them, things will work as expected
also in the build you are running.

About the XalanJ null pointer problem, that too has been fixed in 5.1

Hope this helps,
Minollo
