Subject:SS4.6 103t: Crash - Adding over 50 files to a prj Author:Lee Humphries Date:14 May 2003 02:01 AM
Hi,
I've was trying to set up a project for the OAGIS 8.0 files in part by dragging and dropping a directory of files into Stylus and then moving them from "Other Documents" to a corresponding project folder.
Twice when I tried doing this with more than about 50 files Stylus has first of all complained about problems with a resource when loading up the files and then crashed after the last file was loaded.

Yes, what you hit is a resource limit imposed by Windows for every
application; the next update of Stylus will be less hungry for GDI
resources (to talk about real numbers, you now hit the limit of 10.000
handles after loading 62 XML Schemas; the next updated version of Stylus
should be able to load 89 schemas before hitting the same limit).
For the moment, you can workaround the problem (and achieve the same goal
with less clicks) if you drag the entire OASIS directory on the project
window (instead of dragging a bunch of files on the MDI window). This way
you will have a project populated with folders and files in one step,
without waiting for all the files to be opened, placed into the "Other
Documents" project folder, and moving them to be part of the current project.
