Lee HumphriesSubject: SS Crash 4.6 103r: Stylus lost itself
Author: Lee Humphries

I was stepping through an XSLT that had an apply-templates with a select that identified it's target as having an immediately preceding-sibling with a specific name. e.g.
Log/TS[preceding-sibling::*[position() = 1 and name()='TF']]
When I stepped into this line the processor activity hit 100% and Stylus never came back.
I hit the 'Stop Debugging' button and nothing happened, so I simply closed the XSLT at which point Stylus crashed (over an extended period) writing out this log file in one go.

It's repeatable.
Start debugging an XSLT, then close the XSLT document window while it's running.

Is it possible to send us (or me, to minollo@progress.com) the XSLT and XML file(s) you are using when this problem happens?

Thanks,
Minollo

Thanks Lee; we have been able to fix the crash happening when you close the XSLT document and processing is active. The problem was visible only in presence of large nodelists handled by the XPath processor, like it was in your case.

The fix will be available in the next public update.
