I just bought Stylus 1, and when I try to install the eXcelon LE that comes with it, I always fail with the following error message:

General file transfer error. Please check your target location and try again.

Error Number: -2.

How do I fix this problem? I have plenty of disk space.

I just tried to run Stylus, but that fails with the following badly worded error message:

eXcelon registry in [sic] corrupted or unreadable

What can I do to fix this problem?

I must say that I'm not very impressed by the quality of the Stylus installation program. I hope Stylus is better written -- if I can get it to run, that is.

All right, I just figured out how to get Stylus to run. I simply reran the setup program and declined, when asked, to install eXcelon LE.

But I would still like to know how to get LE installed.

Still waiting for a solution. My colleague also cannot install the LE.

I'm sorry you are having difficulty with the installation. A few problems seem to have gotten in at the last minute.

A few things to try:

1) Make sure no other applications are running. I know for a fact that Outlook and the installer have some bizzare interactions.
2) Make sure the TEMP environment variable is properly set.
3) Remove everything in your temp directory.
4) Make sure the drive on which your temp directory resides has at least 60 MB of available space. Even if you are installing on another drive file are decompressed to this location.

If you are still having problems, please let us know. We are trying to resolve this issue ASAP.

We've identified the problem, and are working on a fix. We'll keep EDN posted; thanks for your patience.
