Eric RehmSubject: User functions?
Author: Eric Rehm

I have an attribute (date/time) in my input XML file that I wish to use, slightly modified, as an attribute in my output XML file.

Is there anyway to have Stylus call out to a function so I can reformat the value of this field? (In this case, I want to put the date into ISO 8601 format.)

Are there any plans for such "generalized" escapes? I know this is a slippery slope for a standards-based product, but here's a real example where I actually want to be more standards-based.

There is a standard way in XSLT now for calling out to extension functions, but neither the Stylus nor the eXcelon processor support that yet. It doesn't look like this is going to make it in to 2.1, but it should be available in the next release.
