Henry FangSubject: failure on using external Xalan-J processor
Author: Henry Fang
Date: 06 Feb 2002 09:59 PM
Hi,

I'm trying to use external Xalan-J processor inside Stylus Studio. After XSLT source is ready, I checked option "use Xalan-J processor", and specified path/classpath for the Xalan-J processor in Scenario properties -> Processor (panel), then click "preview XSLT result" button, what I got is the following:
External XSLT processing started...
Command line failed:
java org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process -IN "c:\testzone\xsltperformance\contivo\simpliest\simpliestInput.xml" -XSL "c:\testzone\xsltperformance\excelon\simpliest\STY19B.xsl" -OUT "C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\RES19C.boh"

I can't figure out why it failed based on the msg. Did I miss anything? I can run my XSLT successfully on command line, so I know it's not the source problem.

Thanks,
Henry

Henry,
the error message is "command failed"; I can only imagine that you haven't
set the path to reach "java.exe"...

Henry,

I've gotten it to work.

The values in Tools/Options/External XSLT become the defaults when you setup a custom Scenario.

The only value I needed was: d:\xalan-j_2_2_D11\bin\xalan.jar in the CLASSPATH field and everything worked.

Troy,

I already got it working, but eXcelon has something problem to look into. I'll let you know later.

Actually I forgot telling you that we've found the problem, and the fix
will be part of the next update package.
