Gerald NelsonSubject: displaying required attribute values
Author: Gerald Nelson

I like how stylus displays a dropdown list of legal attribute choices. Would it be possible to have it also display a list of required attribute values. What I mean is if you have a month attribute list and the dtd says month has JAN, FEB, etc as the only valid values, then the dropdown would appear with just those values.

I am forever forgetting what my dtd says about these things so this would really help with my failing memory.

Thanks, Jerry Nelson

This is something on which we thought in the past; but we've never got to it.
It will happen eventually.

Thanks,
Minollo

Is this essentially the same RFI I was going to post (or different?) whereby the values of an enumeration (aka string restriction) are shown in a popup menu in both grid and text editors.

In general, there seems to be a missing "view" on the XML data, and that is a "data entry" tab where the view/editor is optimized for validated (and helpful popups/shortcuts) data entry using everything known from the DTD/Schema defs.
None of the existing text/grid/tree views quite do it. I know this is aimed at XML designers but a relatively simple addition would make it a good XML data production tool too.
