Sjoerd ZonneveldSubject: Java generator for HTML Forms to XML mapping
Author: Sjoerd Zonneveld

First of all I want to wish you a happy new year.

Guys from the Stylus studio team. I had a thought and since it quite often occurs that I write a web application and I have to write the java code that maps the forms in my web site to XML. This is annoying and I make a lot of mistakes, because I want to be quick!

So what I figured out was something like building a generator that maps these web form fields onto working java code. After all Stylus already has a java editor and can generate servlet templates....

All that needs to be done is to parse out all form fields in a web site. So if this page is generated by Stylus, it could first generate the HTML and then generate the Java code right after it.

Would this be an interesting feature? It would certainly speedup web development....

Let me know. Regards and hope you like the idea. If so, I would like to participate if possible....

I think it would be very interesting; the main problem there is being
generic (but specific) enough to be useful in more than a few cases.

Let us have a bit of internal discussion about this; we'll get back to you
(on the forum, so that other people can post their opinions) and try to
design a solution together.

Thanks!
