(Deleted User) Subject: Namespace error that I do not understand
Author: (Deleted User)

I have created a schema as follows:

When you fire this at the validator I get:
Untitled4.xsd:2,79: Attribute '{http://www.w3.org/2000/xmlns/}fred' is not declared for element 'xsd:schema'

I know the example is a noddy one but how do you declare a namespace other than a default one.

Martin,
the XML you wrote is legal, but Stylus will complain because it uses a DTD
to validate your XML Schema file (BTW, it's the official DTD published by
the W3C): this means that the validation only handles the XML Schema
elements and attributes, and that every other element and attribute, even
if in another namespace, will be flagged as an error.

Unfortunately you will have to wait until Xerces completes the support for
XMLSchema validation; at that point we will stop using the DTD definition
of XMLSchema and use the XMLSchema definition of XMLSchema and that will
fix the error you see.
Alternatively, you could decide to manually edit the XMLSchema.dtd file you
find in the \Plugins\Configuration Files to include these
attributes (e.g. change into schemaAttrs 'xmlns:fred CDATA #IMPLIED'> )

Hope this helps,

Alberto
