Ken HansonSubject: How to WYSIWYG deal with xsl:key and key() groups
Author: Ken Hanson
Date: 23 Sep 2003 03:19 PM
Just started evaluating Stylus and it looks very promising for what I want to do, however, how can I define xsl:key and use the key() function to do group/aggregate html table generation (Muenchian method grouping)?

Thanks in advance

You can't do that automatically in the current version of WYSIWYG; you can
have WYSIWYG help you create the proper structure and then modify the code
manually.

This is a valuable enhancement request that we will try to satisfy in
future product updates.

Thanks,
Minollo

Thats great, of course I hope it is soon. There is another thing that needs to go along with the ability to WYSIWYG aggreagation and table generation, and that is WYSIWYG table totals and sub-totals. Basicaly you need to be able to support calculated sums, the following is a typical construct for summing expressions:

Looks like my xslt example got stripped out, here it is again in cdata to hopefully avoid the problem.

Ok, so that didn't work either, here is the link where I found out how to do it.

Yep, this has been on our todo list for a while now.

BTW, don't worry if you don't see the snippet you have posted; we can see
it through the mailing list subscription, and you can see it if you look at
the page source on the web site; unfortunately the forum software is not
very XML friendly... :(

Thanks,

I know how hard it is to predict future features and thier release dates, but can you give us a hint as to when we might see WYSISYG xsl:key and key() groups support.

2003 Q4...???? :)

Bad news: feature freeze for 5.1 (which will be released in early December)
has already been hit; and xsl:key()/key() support in WYSIWYG and Mapper
didn't make it.

Good news: we usually spin minor release updates every other month... and
support for xsl:key()/key() in WYSIWYG and Mapper is pretty high in our
list of minor improvements... ;)
