Has this issue been fixed yet? Looks like it has been reported continuously since ~2003, I am on 2010 and it is still a problem. Saw a post that it was still there in 2011, curious if it has been fixed in 2012?

Hi Brian,
Could you please describe the specific scenario (editor, processor, input or output, URL format,...) in which you are using UNC paths and which OS you are running?

You bet. Client machine is running Win7 x64, to a Windows Server (2003). I can do a File, Open and type in \\isdev\sys\directorya\directoryb\test.xml and it will open the file just fine. Make a change to the file and click the save button and I get the message box "Failed to create the directory "\\isdev\": The specified path is invalid."
It works on a mapped drive, but I don't have enough drive letters available to have them mapped to all the different servers I would be working on. Again, its strange, the open works, the save fails.

Thanks, would this be the next major release or a patch? Is there anyway to get notified when this fix is available in the release as we will want to upgrade to that version.
