Subject:Stylus Studio Crash in XSL-Editor Author:Jorge Ertl Date:30 Jan 2002 12:01 PM
I was editing a XSL document for a while, with some cut & paste operations now and then, when Stylus Studio crashed. I was using build 69h (I forgot to upgrade to build 69i, perhaps this has been fixed already). Log attached.
Another issue: When a project has more files/folders than fit in the project window (so that a scrollbar is displayed) the scrollbar is not updated correctly after loading, so that the files/folders at the bottom are not accessible. This also happens when checking in/out a file from source control (VSS). When opening or closing a folder of the project, the display is corrected.

This is an open bug that we have been chasing for a while; with no luck...
If you can somehow reproduce it, please send us the files you are using and
let us know the steps you have followed.

I can't reproduce this behavior; if I try opening a project with more
files/folders than fit in the project window, I do see the vertical
scrollbar. Are you saying that doesn't work for you?

I am also having problems with Stylus Studio crashing when I select the "Save All" option. If I have multiple files open and I've saved them several times, sooner or later I can count on Stylus Studio to crash on me. The good news is that it seems to save my files before it crashes, but when I re-open Stylus Studio it has forgotten all of my settings (i.e. my project settings are lost and it seems to revert to an older copy, a backup copy perhaps?)

Your crashes are unrelated to the one reported by Jorge.
Unfortunately the log file contains valuable information only for one of
these crashes, that we will investigate shortly.

Can you give me an example of what gets lost? Something like scenario settings?
Are you using a project file? If so, have you checked if the project file
is being saved?

I am using a project file and next time it happens I will check to see if the project file has been saved.
When I re-open Stylus Studio after a crash, it does not retain the files that were previously open and it attempts to open files that were long since moved or deleted (so I get numerous boxes stating that these files cannot be found.)
Is there a limit to the number of files I can have open at a time? I tend to open numerous files as I am working, which all go under the heading of "Other Documents" in the project window. I was wondering if this could be a factor?

If it happen again try to delete the following registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\eXcelon Corporation\Stylus
Studio\OpenDocuments
