Thanks Michael!  Apologies if I'm being unclear here.  I'm a novice as far as
XSLT goes and our primary code in the project is c# - so part of what we're
doing is a bit of a learning/training exercise.

  I think that the solution Dmitri suggested will work for my issue - I'll be
incorporating it and testing on Mon-Tues next week and will let you guys know
how that goes and give appropriate credit and thanks.

Well said, Wendell. I'm often frustrated when people don't specify their
requirement precisely and unambiguously, instead simply describing one example
of an input document and saying how that one speciment should be handled.

But this is absolutely normal and we all do it all the time.

In fact, I think it would be fair to say that much of the success of XSLT is
that the processing model works very well in this scenario where there is a
progressive understanding of the requirements as development proceeds.
