XPath 2.0 parser written in XSLT exists since 2007 as part of FXSL. It uses
the YACC LR-1 parser generator and post=processes its output to produce as
an XML file the parsing tables for the XPath grammar. It is easy to extend
the grammar to that of XPath3. The parser that uses these LR-1 parsing
table is a simple XSLT function and contains around 200 lines of code:
