>The rest is mine (developed from Googling xsl:number). Interesting observation. I know the feeling - I've been stuck on some problems involving Ant and C# the last couple of days, and Google is an important tool in finding the answer. But I think there's a difference between using Google when you're stuck, and using it as your first port of call. There's an awful lot of garbage out there on the web, such as forum postings answered by people whose own knowledge is very limited, and Google indexes it all. I'd say the right strategy for getting information about an XSLT language construct is, in order: (a) consult your favourite textbook (different styles suit different people) (b) go to the definitive language spec - many specs are quite readable once you've learnt to find your way around them (c) Google to see if someone else has had the same problem (d) ask here Regards, Michael Kay http://www.saxonica.com/ http://twitter.com/michaelhkay
