See the documentation for "java - the Java application launcher" in the tools section of the Java documentation. If you supply a -jar command line argument then the path supplied in -cp ... will be ignored as will any value of the CLASSPATH environment variable.


This is also explained in the "Running XSLT from the Command Line" section of the Saxon documentation which also explains other ways to run Saxon from the command line.
