I suspect you'd need to generate the whole tag in that case, in which
case it's probably easier to go back to what you were doing and generate
the whole document in text mode.

I suspect you'd need to generate the whole tag in that case, in which
case it's probably easier to go back to what you were doing and generate
the whole document in text mode. Or of course you can post process your
output using a non-xml text processing system such as sed or perl and
change the characters around at will.
