Re: Forcing a namespace declaration

The following XML:

<n xmlns="http://www.test.com" xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"/>

uses the following XSLT:

<xsl:stylesheet version="2.0" xmlns="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/"
xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"
xmlns:rss1="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/" exclude-result-prefixes="rss1"
xpath-default-namespace="http://www.test.com">

<xsl:output indent="yes" method="xml"/>

        <xsl:template match="n" >
                <rdf:RDF xmlns="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/"
xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#" >

to generate the following XML:

   <channel xmlns="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/">fffffff</channel>

I'm using XSLT 2 in Saxon 8.

The problem is I need the http://purl.org/rss/1.0/ xmlns declaration to
appear on the root element instead of on the channel element.

Remove the rss1 namespace definition (as its defined as the default
namespace) and then remove the redundant exclude result prefixes and
it will work, eg:

<xsl:stylesheet version="2.0" xmlns="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/"
xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/"
xpath-default-namespace="http://www.test.com">
	
	<xsl:output indent="yes" method="xml"/>
	
	<xsl:template match="n">
		<rdf:RDF xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#">
			<channel>fffffff</channel>
		</rdf:RDF>
	</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>

<rdf:RDF xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#"
        xmlns="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/"
