If you are invoking a transformation from the operating system command line, then you include the extra parameters in the command that invokes the transformation, as shown. If you're running the transformation from a Java application, you allocate the memory at the point that the application gets invoked. If you're using an IDE such as Stylus Studio, you'll have to look at its configuration options. But if memory is critical, you're probably better off running outside an IDE.
