# In XSLT 2.0, are schema aware processors required to recognize W3C
# schemas (as opposed to say, RELAX-NG)?

Yes.

An XSLT 2.0 processor could potentially be written to integrate with Relax
NG, but no such integration is defined in the spec, and such a processor
couldn't claim conformance as a schema-aware processor.
