   document('')

selects the root of the current xsl:stylesheet document. E.g:

   document('')/*

selects the xsl:stylesheet element.

   document('')/*/xsl:variable

selects all global xsl:variable (-s),

   document('')/*/xsl:template

selects all xsl:template (-s),

etc.
