[ Karl J. Stubsjoen] > So... how do I call that template? > <xsl:variable name="xmTmplt" select="how_to_call_this_template"/> > -or- > <xsl:variable name="xmTmplt"> > <xsl:call-template name="but_then_xmTmplt_does_not_resolve_to_RTF"/> > </xsl:variable> > You do not "call" a template using a select statement. Either you select a set of nodes and apply templates to it, or you use call-template, passing the template whatever parameters it may need. As for syntax to create an RTF, you get an RTF anytime the processor puts anything into a result. That includes the following construction for a variable - <xsl:variable name='theThing'> Anything here will be a RTF </xsl:variable> On the other hand, if you want a variable to contain a node set, you can select one - <xsl:variable name='theNodeset' select='...'/> When a variable contains a node set, it can be used in XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
