XML in IE6

Friends,
I was having a spendid time working with my XML XSL in IE 5.5. Then I
received this new DELL with IE6 and I have a problem viewing XML
files in the browser.

When I attempt to view the XML file, the file download window comes
up and goes into a loop. I have to shut down (restart) to get rid of
it. 

I tried giving the XML document a <!DOCTYPE xml SYSTE "xml.dtd"> tag
but it still did the same thing.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?
