yes you are correct that in general, having any discussion is good to have
on the list, but I would suggest always posing the question generically ,
esp for archive's sake. Mr. Kay does have his own personal email address.

no the statement is not true, XSL-FO is now a W3 recc, which puts it on
terms of other well known stable 'pillar' technologies for the web.

this is serious software, so it costs money.

 For the rest of us there are many other implementations, Apache's being the
most desired and released under their typical license xml.apache.org/fop.
