If I modify my test.html file it works: test.html: <html><head> <title>test doc</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> </head><body></body> </html> Result: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> test doc Can anyone let me know why this is not working with a valid xhtml document?
