you are using a validating parser on the stylesheet.
This is rarely a good idea as most stylesheets are not valid.

Your parser may have an option not to validate, but much simpler is just
to type non breaking space as &#160; it is no more characters than
&nbsp; and doesn't require an entity declaration.
