	First , Thanks for the help.
	I tried exactly the same way you said but the line  
	 <xsl:value-of select="$num + 1"/>
	is not displaying the value. 

	I tried the example in 
	
	
http://www.zvon.org/xxl/XSLTutorial/Examples/Example77/exampleInOne.html

which is similar to the above mentioned example but no luck....
This is my code . Can you tell me where am I going wrong?

<transform:template name="recur">
	<transform:value-of select="$currentnum"/>
	<transform:if test="not($currentnum = 10)">
		<transform:call-template name="recur">
			<transform:with-param name="currentnum">
				<transform:value-of select="$currentnum +
1"/>
			</transform:with-param>
		</transform:call-template>
	</transform:if>
</transform:template>
