 Rohit, I think Mike's solution of generate-id() will give the cross-linking; for the HTML part of the question, I think we need more clarification on what you need to know: > How do I tell my XSL that there can be <HTML> tags like <p>, <table> > etc. etc. between XML? Maybe you don't need to, instead using an instruction such as xsl:copy-of to replicate whatever child nodes appear in the source. But I'm not sure whether that would address your requirement.
