<form action="XMLSelect.asp?mmode=forupdate&amp;pk='id=1'" method="post">

...will put the '&' character in the result tree and will preserve
well-formedness of your XML/XSL. The html output method will turn it into
'&amp;' because that is what is preferred in an HTML document, even in an
attribute value. Just like XML. The '&amp;' will be interpreted as '&' by
the browser. Try it.
