To get the value of a source tree node into an attribute value of a result tree node, you can use a syntax with curly braces. So this should work: <xsl:template match="title"> <meta name="{.}" content="text"/> </xsl:template> -----Original Message----- From: Yannick Nicolas [mailto:yannick@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, November 22, 1999 4:26 PM To: XSL-List@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Question: rules in a XSLT document Hello again! I'm sorry to ask you questions that must seem easy but I didn't find the answer in the XSL faq, and I'm really lost for this one: I want to transform a XML document into another one. My problem is about a tag I want to include in my final document. my initial document looks like : <title> this is the title </title> I want my final document to look like: <meta name="this is the title" content="text"/> So I tried this rule of transformation in my XSLT document : <xsl:template match="title"> <meta name="<xsl:value-of select="."/>" content="text"/> </xsl:template> and it obviously doesn't work... really, I can't understand which way I should write my transformation rule to obtain what I've explained above. It would be great if someone could explain me! Thank you !
