   Here is the solution I'm using... get the latest version of XT and include
© in the source file ... XT is smart enough to map it to © in the
result file if the root element of your style sheet looks like this...

<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-xsl"
xmlns="http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40" result-ns="">
