Hi Nigel

   Try using the following...

 <xsl:template match="participants">
   <xsl:for-each select="participant">
      <xsl:element name="a">
         <xsl:attribute name="href"><xsl:value-of
select="@link"/></xsl:attribute>
      </xsl:element>
      <xsl:value-of/>
      <a/>
   </xsl:for-each>
 </xsl:template>

   For an example of a style sheet using this see my FAQs example at
http://home-3.worldonline.nl/~sargeant/xml.htm

regards
   Richard
